Master Karin (カリン) is a hermit of the Karin Tower (bearing his name). The Karin Tower Temple serves as a gateway that connects the human world to the Palace of God which sits above the top of this tower. Cat Karin has many useful artifacts throughout the manga, such as the divine elixir, or Senzus magic beans, Master Roshi's magic cloud , and Goku's magic staff .

Master Karin is the third master that Son Goku will meet during the manga, he was also the master of Master Roshi, several centuries before the beginning of Dragon Ball. A priori, some martial arts experts know him, such as Tao Pai Pai, although this one thinks it is just a legend.
